Why would a contented, 50-year-old mother of an adult daughter even think about adopting a child? Trudi Bryant-Williams says that the decision to adopt was the result of a long and thoughtful process. And within three weeks of completing her Adoption Homestudy, Trudi got a call telling her that Autumn had been born and that an adoptive home was needed for her. After consulting with her daughter Jennifer, Trudi brought Autumn home, and the rest is history. But that’s not the end of the story. A year later, Autumn’s biological sister, Amber was born. Another call came, Trudi consulted with Jennifer, and again she said “yes” to adoption. Trudi has never regretted her decision to adopt. When asked if she feels that she has forfeited other life experiences in order to adopt, Trudi says, “You put other goals off, but you don’t regret it. You think about loving someone, and that person loving you, and you realize that there is nothing more important in life”.
