Shannon and Rich have been married for 12 years but have known each other since they were sixteen years old. After 8 years of infertility treatments, they decided to start a family through adoption. Shannon and Rich wanted to adopt an infant until they found out that there were many older children waiting for families. After careful consideration they decided to adopt Austin and Adrian, brothers ages 5_ and 2_. Not long after the boys came home, Shannon and Rich had a lovely visit with Austin and Adrian’s birth mom. When their birth mom gave birth to Elaina, she chose the Walkers as parents for her. At three days of age Elaina joined the family. Shannon jokes that, “you should be careful what you wish for…our lives, hearts and laundry baskets are full.” Shannon and Rich wouldn’t have it any other way.
